AGF Monitor compares weekly price trends of avocado, cauliflower, Galia melon, hand oranges, cucumbers, and vine tomatoes as found online. Prices are monitored by Supermarktscanner.nl. The price survey takes place at the end of the week.
Cucumber
Fixed prices for cucumbers remain fairly stable at 79 to 85 cents each. Hoogvliet offers a discount in week 23, reducing the price from 85 to 69 cents each.
Broccoli
Broccoli is not a promotional or standout item. Prices remain stable, ranging from 1.29 to 1.35 euros each on the shelf. DekaMarkt's promotion has ended, but the fixed price has been lowered to 1.29 euros each (previously 1.34 euros).
Blueberries
The blueberry promotion at Albert Heijn has ended and will be picked up by Hoogvliet, where blueberries are available for 3.49 euros per 300g in week 23. Dirk is extending its promotion for a third consecutive week.
Mango
Both Albert Heijn and Jumbo are featuring mangoes in their week 23 promotions, with Albert Heijn offering the biggest discount. Mangoes are priced at 1 euro at Albert Heijn and 1.25 euros at Jumbo.
Strawberries 
There are two strawberry promotions in week 23. Albert Heijn offers the lowest price: from 3.99 euros down to 2.79 euros—a reduction of 1.20 euros. PLUS follows with a promotion from 3.99 to 2.99 euros. Dirk is offering strawberries again and is pricing them competitively at a fixed rate of 2.89 euros.
Vine tomatoes
Albert Heijn features a particularly striking promotion, reducing the price of vine tomatoes from 1.35 euros to 49 cents per 500 grams. Dirk continues its price cut to 99 cents. The other supermarkets in the survey maintain their prices at the same level as in week 22.
Price and quality
Price data come from Supermarktscanner.nl and are based on online prices listed in the webshops of Albert Heijn, Jumbo, PLUS, DekaMarkt, Dirk, and Hoogvliet. Prices are averaged and include promotional pricing. This comparison does not factor in product origin or quality, as most supermarkets do not provide this information online. Hoogvliet and Jumbo are exceptions, as they do indicate the country of origin. As a result, this comparison may involve unripe versus ripe avocados or Spanish versus Dutch cucumbers.
Notes on the data
Vomar uses fixed online prices. Avocados have been missing from their online range since 2022; since week 24, Galia melons are also no longer listed. The hand oranges from Hoogvliet and Vomar are sold in 1.5 kg packaging, and prices have been converted to reflect a 2 kg equivalent. Jumbo only sells vine tomatoes in packs of five rather than by 500g or per kilo. For comparison purposes, the calculation assumes 100g per tomato.
