In the initial two months of the year, Uzbekistan exported over 2,400 tons of persimmons, generating $1.3 million in revenue, as reported by the State Committee on Statistics (NaŃkomstat). The primary importer was Kazakhstan, acquiring 1,200 tons. Russia imported 940 tons, and Kyrgyzstan purchased 186.3 tons.
Uzbekistan's export strategy for the year includes vegetables, fruits, and other food products, with a target of $3.5 billion. The government is also focusing on tapping into emerging markets, aiming for over $440 million in exports to these new destinations.
According to Kursiv Uzbekistan, agricultural production in the country saw an 18.5% growth.
