Jamie Craig - Dori Australia

"Dori has certainly delivered on its promise of productivity and eating quality"

Volumes of the Italian Dori gold kiwifruit in Australia have been steadily increasing over the last few years and this season looks like it will be strong in terms of quality and size.

"We have had a more traditional summer this year. Not enough rain to get you wet since November, a few 40-degree days but without the strong northerly that we sometimes get," said Jamie Craig, Director of Dori Australia.

"Our crops are looking very good and right up to expectations both in respect of quality and size. Dori has certainly delivered on its promise of productivity and eating quality. I am very confident that we will comfortably achieve our crop forecasts of at least 400 tons at a very good average size.

"It is still 2 weeks to harvest (forecast 1st week of March) and already we are fielding daily inquiries both from domestic and potential export opportunities. It is clear that the strong gold color and high 19% dry matter which underwrites the exceptional eating quality we took to market last year has resonated with Fruiterers and their customers alike.

"Due to our still modest production, we will restrict export to airfreight opportunities again this year. We are seeing enquiry from most SE Asian destinations and the Middle East."
