In the period from July to December 2024, Pakistan's citrus fruit exports reached 105,690.3 metric tons, yielding a revenue of $30.9 million. Afghanistan emerged as the leading importer, purchasing 77,547.44 MT, which translated into $16.72 million or over 54% of the total revenue. This underscores Afghanistan's position as a key market for Pakistani citrus. The United Arab Emirates and Indonesia were also notable importers, with exports of 9,173.09 MT and 6,384.01 MT respectively, contributing to the revenue of $3.99 million and $3.30 million. Together, these countries accounted for a significant portion of both volume and revenue from citrus exports.
Additional markets such as Oman and Sri Lanka, alongside European countries like Italy and Belgium, and Southeast Asian markets including the Philippines and Singapore, played roles in diversifying the export destinations. Despite smaller volumes, countries like Kazakhstan, Kuwait, and Canada were highlighted for their contribution to the total revenue, indicating the strategic importance of both regional and premium markets for Pakistani citrus exports.
Moreover, the National Assembly received information on mango exports, with the United Kingdom being a prominent importer of the "King of Fruits." From July to December 2024, Pakistan exported 4,783 MT of mangoes, valued at $17.97 million. Historical data revealed a consistent demand for Pakistani mangoes in the UK, alongside significant exports to the UAE, Kazakhstan, Germany, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Qatar over the past five years. This trend signifies the resilience and strategic market expansion of Pakistani mango exports, with a focus on both traditional and emerging markets globally.
