Ministry of agriculture prepares land for 150 small farmers to boost food production

The Ministry of Agriculture's Luperón Sub-Zonal Office has completed land preparation on approximately 7,900 plots across various districts in the province, impacting 150 small farmers. Specifically, 2,700 plots received crossing work for 56 farmers, and 5,200 plots underwent cutting work, assisting 78 farmers. This initiative is designed to enhance the production of bananas, corn, yucca, pumpkin, and short-cycle vegetables, as detailed by Félix Almánzar, the sub-zonal manager. The AC-360 project includes free land preparation in Las Paredes, while in other areas, farmers are required to provide fuel for the work. This move is part of President Luis Abinader's strategy for food security and is directed by Agriculture Minister Limber Cruz to alleviate operational costs for small-scale farmers.
