The Vão do Paranã Irrigated Fruit Farming project was officially launched last Wednesday by the Government of Goiás. It is working in partnership with the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Seapa) and the Goiana Agency for Technical Assistance, Rural Extension and Research Agriculture (Emater). The new program will select 138 rural producer families from agrarian reform.
The project to implement irrigation systems aims to promote productive inclusion, promotion and socioeconomic development in the Northeast region of the State of Goiás, through the promotion of irrigated agriculture. Furthermore, the initiative plans to increase agricultural productivity, encourage job creation and improve the quality of life of family farmers, through the implementation of hydro-agricultural infrastructure, transforming the Northeast region of the state into the largest fruit growing hub in Goiás.
