The Primorsky Interregional Department of Rosselkhoznadzor has prevented the import of tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers from the EAEU. Rosselkhoznadzor officials at the "Pogranichny" phytosanitary control post selected samples of vegetables for research. According to the test protocols of the Primorsky branch, in samples from batches of tomatoes, sweet peppers, and hot peppers with a total weight of 14.3 tons, a quarantine object for the EAEU was detected - the tomato brown rugose fruit virus.
Also, according to a test protocol dated May 23, 2023, a batch of tomatoes from China with a total weight of 6.1 tons was found to contain an object quarantined for the EAEU - the virus of brown wrinkling of tomato fruits (Tomato brown rugose fruit virus).
The administration of Rosselkhoznadzor prohibited the release of the shipments, which are set to be destroyed.
