'Drinking brown coconut'

Our coconut business also helps and supports Vietnamese farmers

"The global coconut market has witnessed huge growth in recent years, especially in the post-Covid era. There's a trend with consumers going for healthy products. Our business core value is not only bringing quality products into the consumer community, but also helping and supporting Vietnamese farmers. True Fruits has been exporting young and mature coconuts for many years. Next to our signature, easy to open, young coconut, recently we've been  promoting 'Drinking brown coconut' globally."

"Vietnam has a coconut cultivation area of about 188,000 hectares, with a total output of about 1.9 million tons per year. As such, we could exploit the advantage in both mature and young coconut, which helped Vietnam’s coconut industry to be ranked fourth in total value in the world coconut market. Up to the present, raw coconut has mainly been served for processing coconut industry as desiccated coconut, coconut oil and coconut milk. However, dried coconut has recently attracted consumer’s interest, as the benefits are, among other thing, a regulated digestion, lower blood sugar levels and reducing backache. According to Yanbandon’s study in 2017, mature coconut meat is a good source of protein, dietary fiber and carbohydrates."

"Dried coconut belongs to the Ta variety – one of the local coconut varieties with high yield and output. There is a huge quantity and the product is available year round, which helps keeping the price stable. The average weight of a Vietnam-dried coconut is 700g up, including 250-350ml of coconut water, and 400gram of flesh which could be used both for cooking and drinking. In order to create a pleasing appearance and give convenience to our customers when enjoying a coconut, we remove all the fiber and attach a bamboo straw, which is made from eco-friendly material."

"In addition to “Drinking brown coconut”, “Fully husked coconut” packed in a mesh bag with a specification is 40pcs/ bag and the average weight per bag of 23-25kg which has also been promoted in the EU market. These are the same as “Drinking brown coconut” in quality and usage but this has a cheaper price. This could be highly competitive with other mature coconuts."

"Our dried coconut has been popular in Asia and the European market. Dried coconut water has a mild taste with a slight sweetness, less fat and a slightly salty taste of minerals. The coconut meat is sweet and soft. Furthermore, we have a competitive advantage over other exporters, in that we can combine young coconut and dried coconut in a batch to diversify the output products for consumers."

"Besides coconuts, True Fruits also exports large volumes of a variety of tropical fruits such as pomelo, dragon fruit, durian, and limes."
