WACOMP is a partnership initiative between the Economic Community of West African States and the EU. The program is implemented by the UN Industrial Development Organisation in coordination with the MoTI. Now, it has become known that the EU is to invest about GH¢75 mln (€6.23 mln) to reinforce competitiveness of Ghanaian exports. The objectives of WACOMP is to strengthen the competitiveness of West African products and to enhance the integration of the ECOWAS countries into the regional and international trading system, including the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The program is a unique opportunity to promote the success stories of SME's in Ghana in key value chains of mango, pineapple and cassava: adding that they are all an important export for the country.
