Joe Spano on Mucci Farms’ presence at CPMA

“CEA is the future of farming”

Next week, the Canadian Produce Association (CPMA) will hold their annual convention and trade show in Toronto. Mucci Farms is looking forward to a great show. "CPMA holds a special place in our hearts since the event is basically in our backyard," says Joe Spano, Managing Partner at Mucci Farms. "While we take immense pride in being a part of the global produce industry, the Canadian show is a little extra special to us," he added.

At the show, the greenhouse grower wants to emphasize the positive momentum that Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) has gained in recent years. "Our main focus will be to convey the message that CEA is the future of farming, and we have the expertise and scale to service retail partners from coast to coast," Spano commented.

"We have realistic solutions to some of the most pressing challenges that our retailers are facing, and our value proposition is that we are problem solvers from seed to retail." Mucci Farms also mentioned that their sustainability efforts prioritize environmental protection while maximizing the production of fresh and flavorful fruits and vegetables.

Savorries and fully recyclable packaging
The company's complete range of CEA-grown produce will be showcased in Toronto, ushering in the unofficial start of the Canadian growing season. The lineup will include many different offerings, but the spotlight will be on the latest innovation: Savorries Strawberry Tomatoes.

"This high-flavor tomato variety is a foodie's delight that is sure to captivate at-home chefs and culinary enthusiasts," says Stephen Cowan, Director of Retail Sales. "The deep red color, and sweet flavor, offered on the vine brings every dish to life. They're sweet like a strawberry, savory like a tomato!"

Another item to hit the spotlight will be an award-winning package. "We are proud to share that Paper Top Seal is gaining significant momentum, and it's now being offered in a reseal format," Cowan said. "This innovative solution transforms a conventional footprint container into a fully recyclable item, reducing plastic waste." Paper Top Seal has been in full production for some time now, and retail partners are encouraged to join Mucci Farms in their mission to promote sustainability and protect the environment.

Sponsorship
Mucci Farms will once again sponsor the Relaxation Lounge on the tradeshow floor. "The lounge will be better than ever this year," said Spano. Attendees can unwind in style at "The Green Lounge," located just outside the entrance of the convention. "It's the perfect place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the show floor, whether you need to put your feet up, have a meeting, or get some work done in a quieter setting."

A range of refreshments, including SmucciesTM Sweet Strawberries, will be provided to keep attendees going, along with some delectable products to snack on.

"All in all, we are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to connect with current and prospective partners next week and come together to celebrate the amazing Canadian Ag industry." Visit Mucci Farms at booth #621.
