Confagricoltura members at K.EY - The Energy Transition Expo di Rimini

"We must not be afraid to use ideas developed by other countries"

Numerous members of Confagricoltura Forlì-Cesena and Rimini attended the meeting promoted by Federazione Nazionale di Bieoconomia (National Bioeconomy Federation) with Israeli company Solar Gik. The event, in the presence of the Federation's president Alessandro Bettoni and vice-president Alberto Mazzoni, was held on March 23rd at the K.EY - The Energy Transition Expo in Rimini. The purpose was the presentation of state-of-the-art agrivoltaic systems.

"We have been talking about a way to tackle climate change for a while in Italy. The use of state-of-the-art tools such as the one showcased by Solar KIG can be of great help to counter the problem. We must not be afraid to use ideas developed by other countries. Precision agriculture can help reduce the costs of agricultural companies and favor a better use of natural resources," explained Alberto Mazzoni who, a few weeks ago, was hosted by the MIGAL research center in Israel on the occasion of the Sunnyside APV 2023 summit.

The collaboration between Confagricoltura and the State of Israel continues to evolve with a fruitful exchange of knowledge and strategies to improve the respective agrifood sectors.

"The continued exchange of information, which led to the big Agritech event held together with the Israeli Embassy, the Naples municipality and the University Federico II, is very important to us and enables us to get to know ways to tackle the global challenges of climate change. In this case, the possibility of producing energy using agrivoltaic systems provides growers with the opportunity to increase their energy self-sufficiency, balancing the use of solar energy and optimizing the combination of agricultural and economic results."

The attendance of many members of Confagricoltura testified to the interest of growers for state-of-the-art tools that can help them in their daily activities. The technology was presented by Mou Horowitz, Business Development vice-president at Solar Gik.

"We care a lot about this topic and we are happy to be able to continue to develop it and others together with Israel. The exchange of knowledge is at the basis of reciprocal growth."
