Honduran fruit and vegetable exports to the United States increased by 47% in the first months of 2023

According to data from the National Federation of Farmers and Livestock of Honduras (Fenagh), Honduran fruit and vegetable exports to the United States increased by 47% in the first two months of the year.

Guillermo Cerritos, the executive director of Fenagh, said Honduras continues to be the leading exporter of several fruits.

Honduras is the main exporter of okra to the United States. The Central American country is also the US market's second biggest melon and pumpkin supplier. Cucumber and colored chili pepper exports rank third and fourth in relation to bananas, whose exports to the United States increased by 35%.

The United States is a strategic commercial partner for Honduras, as it's only two hours away by flight, stated the executive director of Fenagh.
