EU imported 9000 tonnes more citrus in October this year, compared to last year

The EU imported 172,730 tonnes of citrus in October 2022, this compares to 181,836 tonnes in October 2021, by far the biggest volumes coming from South Africa - 147,629 tonnes in 2022 and 181,836 tonnes in 2021.

In October 2022 South Africa was followed by volumes from Zimbabwe with 13,157 tonnes and Argentina with 5,782 tonnes, Egypt sent 322 tonnes.

In October 2021 Zimbabwe again followed South Africa with 17,818 tonnes, Argentina - 8,261 tonnes and Egypt with 77 tonnes.

In 2021 the EU imported no citrus from Morocco in October but received 100 tonnes in November. In 2022 imports were 17 tonnes in October and 48 tonnes in November.
