To kick off this year's IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show, Gourmet Trading hosted a vibrant and fun-filled team-building event in Southern California. Held at the South Bay Tennis & Pickleball Center in Torrance, the company's Social Pickleball and Tacos Event brought together over 60 employees from across its U.S. and international locations, along with strategic partners, for an evening of connection, competition, and celebration.
Team members traveled in from Mexico, Peru, Argentina, New Zealand, and key U.S. offices including Los Angeles, Delano, and Miami, highlighting the company's broad reach and deep-rooted employee culture. On average, participants had over 15 years of tenure with the company, showcasing the loyalty and dedication that have long defined the organization.

The evening began with social pickleball, where all team members were invited to participate regardless of skill level, with guidance from an instructor to help everyone get in on the fun. Following the warm-up, departments selected two representatives each to compete in a friendly–but competitive–tournament for the ultimate bragging rights.
Winning players earned trophies, medals, and lunch for their department, while spectators cheered them on over a festive taco dinner. The night also featured a high-energy raffle with prizes including a 55-inch Samsung TV, and Amazon and Visa gift cards, keeping the energy high and the smiles wide.
"This event wasn't just about competition, it was about connection. Bringing together team members from across the globe shows the strength of the culture we've built over the years," said Paul Martin, president of Gourmet Trading.

The team invites industry peers and partners to visit booth #3393 to learn more about the company—and to find out which department took home the pickleball trophy. Free branded pickleballs will also be available at the booth for visitors who stop by and say hello.
