Real-time platform launched for fresh produce trading

FreshFleet, a supply chain platform focused on the fresh produce sector, has launched FreshTradeDesk, a new marketplace designed to connect buyers and sellers in real time. The platform aims to improve speed, communication, and efficiency across the fresh produce trading process by allowing users to anonymously manage surplus inventory or address urgent sourcing needs.

FreshTradeDesk supports verified participants, including growers, cooperatives, wholesalers, distributors, and retailers across North America. The platform allows users to discover market opportunities, post listings, and close transactions quickly, while maintaining privacy through anonymous communication and negotiations.

According to FreshFleet President Jonathan Leslie, the platform was developed to reduce friction in the trading process and to improve responsiveness in supply chain operations. In addition to its core trading functionality, FreshTradeDesk integrates logistics and storage services.

Sellers can list available produce in real time and access a network of pre-vetted buyers. Buyers, in turn, can respond to listings or post sourcing requests. FreshFleet coordinates logistics, including cold storage and transportation, for both parties.

All users are subject to verification for compliance with food safety standards, relevant trade licenses (such as DRC and PACA), and creditworthiness. The platform also features a post-transaction review system to support ongoing accountability.

FreshFleet's logistics network offers both less-than-truckload (LTL) and full-truckload (FTL) transport services and aims to improve efficiency by helping shippers reduce unused truck capacity.

The platform was developed with input from produce industry professionals across operations, sales, and logistics.
