Apple prices in Ukraine have surged by 75% in recent weeks, with some varieties now selling for over 100 hryvnias per kilogram. Analysts attribute the spike to depleted stocks from last year's harvest, rising logistics costs, and unfavorable weather.
Farmers hope prices will stabilize with the arrival of the new crop in the coming months, but a significant drop is unlikely in the short term.
Meanwhile, cherry prices have also shocked consumers, reaching up to 1,500 hryvnias per kilogram in some stores. Experts expect prices to fall once the Transcarpathian harvest hits the market.
