Peru has 23,320 hectares of table grapes certified for export

Peru currently has 23,320 hectares of table grapes certified for export, according to Manuel Yzaga, president of the Peruvian Association of Table Grape Producers (Provid).

Production is led by the region of Ica with 11,577 certified hectares, accounting for 49.64% of the national total. It is followed by Piura with 7,955 hectares (34.11%), Lambayeque with 1,590 hectares (6.8%), La Libertad with 1,055 hectares (4.5%), Arequipa with 877 hectares, Ancash with 106 hectares, and other producing regions that together account for 119 hectares.

Peru exports more than 50 varieties of table grapes. The most demanded varieties are the Sweet Globe, Autumn Crisp, Allison, Sweet Celebration, Sheegene 2 Timpson, Red Globe, Sugar Crisp, Ivory, and Timpson, Yzaga said.
