Sydney Markets has announced the return of its annual Fresh Awards, an event recognizing the achievements of greengrocers, florists, growers, wholesalers, providores, Paddy's traders, and fresh content creators across New South Wales (NSW) and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). The 2025 Fresh Awards will take place on Friday, July 18, at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney. The event will bring together industry members, finalists, and stakeholders to acknowledge excellence, innovation, and community impact in the fresh produce and floral sectors.
The Fresh Awards will feature 82 finalists across 20 categories, highlighting individuals and businesses that demonstrate quality, value, and customer service while contributing to the broader market community. According to Sydney Markets Limited's Acting CEO, Dale Doonan, the awards provide an opportunity to recognize the efforts of those working in the industry. "These finalists represent a cross-section of individuals and businesses who maintain high standards and a strong connection with their customers," Doonan said.
The Fresh Awards, now in their tenth year, have gained recognition within the industry. Finalists are selected through a detailed process involving industry experts and mystery shoppers, with judging criteria that include store presentation, product quality, customer service, product knowledge, and innovation.
Sydney Markets is a central hub for fresh produce and floral trade, housing over 700 businesses and supported by more than 20,000 local and interstate growers. The venue includes the Sydney Produce Market, Sydney Flower Market, and Sydney Growers Market, which serve as key distribution points for fresh products across the region.
