On April 24, 2025, the SESUR Field Day and Variety Show took place in Seville under ideal weather conditions. Over 150 trade visitors from ten countries took the opportunity to examine around 100 new potato varieties from 20 European breeders in a direct comparison.
All varieties were grown under uniform conditions on the same field, enabling an objective comparison. Visitors were thus able to gain a comprehensive impression on site and obtain information directly from the source.
The event was exclusively reserved for trade visitors from the potato industry. Representatives from the following areas took advantage of the opportunity for intensive and undisturbed exchange: breeding, seed propagation, agriculture and production, industry, packaging companies, and food retail.
The day before, participants were given an insight into various fields of Spanish early potatoes, enabling them to gain a realistic impression of the start of this year's export campaign.
A get-together in the evening before gave international guests in particular the opportunity to discuss current developments in the industry and make new contacts in a relaxed atmosphere.
