T&G Global has announced it will open a Taiwan office in June 2025, as part of its broader strategy to expand its presence in Asia. With a population of 23 million and strong trading relations with New Zealand, Taiwan has become a key market for T&G's apple exports, particularly its ENVY brand. Taiwanese consumers purchase approximately 2.8 million metric tons of fruit annually.
According to Shane Kingston (right), T&G's Chief Operating Officer for Apples, the establishment of a local office is aimed at supporting the company's growth objectives in Taiwan. He noted that over the past eight years, T&G, working with local importers, distributors, and customers, has seen its apple volumes in Taiwan grow by approximately 25% year-on-year. The company attributes this to marketing initiatives and partnerships with retail outlets.
The new office is intended to strengthen customer relationships, expand the availability of T&G's apple brands, and enhance the company's responsiveness to local market trends and consumer preferences. It is also expected to support the distribution of additional brands, including the recently introduced JOLI apple.
The Taipei City office will be T&G's sixth in Asia, joining existing offices in China, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan. T&G also operates offices in the Americas, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Australasia. The Taiwan office will be led by a newly appointed Market Manager, supported by a local team.
