UK onion supplier expands to 750 tons weekly for major retailer

In Lincolnshire, Moulton Bulb, established in 1948, has expanded its onion supply to Aldi, the UK's fourth-largest supermarket, since 2012. Initially delivering 100 tons weekly, the company now supplies over 750 tons weekly, making Aldi its largest retail partner. Moulton Bulb contributes approximately half of Aldi's total onion volume, ensuring a steady supply of red and brown onions year-round. Seasonal production includes shallots and echalions, with peak sales around Easter and summer.

Robert Oldershaw, Director at Moulton Bulb, stated, "Our partnership with Aldi has gone from strength to strength over the years. The scale and consistency of our work together have enabled us to invest in new technology, expand our operations, and improve how we use our crop."

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, remarked, "We're proud of our successful and growing relationship with Moulton Bulb. Their passion for quality and innovation supports our mission to provide British shoppers with the best produce at the best prices."
