Citronex would like to warn their colleagues in the fresh produce industry about a scammer who is trying to buy bananas and pineapples using Yellow Fresh Fruits' name.
"We were scammed by people who claim to work for Yellow Fresh Fruits Srl. This is our subsidiary in Romania, where we have 2 banana ripening centers. These people tried to buy pineapples in our name from well-known companies in the Netherlands. Some of the goods were already loaded onto trucks, but we discovered the scam. Some other traders have received questions about possible purchases of bananas.
A deep and extensive investigation is currently underway in Romania and the Netherlands, as the fake website yellow-fresh.com has been set up in that country. The scammers are using our address, VAT number, and photos from our official website and social media. Fortunately, our colleagues knew that all purchases for our companies in Romania and Hungary go through the Polish office and Citronex team. This is the reason why we do not have any information about any fraud that really happened."
