The Association of Avocado Producers, Packers, and Exporters of Mexico (APEAM A.C.) announced that the country will export approximately 110,000 tons of avocado for the Super Bowl, a similar volume to the one shipped last year.
The APEAM, the only Mexican cooperating partner for avocado exports from Mexico to the United States, has become a benchmark for other agro-industrial products worldwide.
The export of 110,000 tons of avocado is only possible thanks to the hard work, adaptation, and dedication of thousands of Mexicans, including producers, packers, agronomists, field technicians, supervisors, and fruit sorters, among others.
Renowned for its unparalleled flavor, creamy texture, and versatility, Hass avocado has become a staple of Super Bowl gatherings where people love to eat guacamole. Mexico, the world's largest producer of avocados, brings the best of its fruits to the big game to satisfy the tastes and preferences of fans who enjoy a healthy, delicious, and nutrient-packed snack during the Super Bowl. This event has a significant impact on the Mexican and US economies. Since Mexico is the world's leading avocado producer, the process is carried out under the strictest phytosanitary, safety, and quality measures.
The United States is the main avocado consumer, with a per capita consumption of 4.1 kilograms. However, Mexico exports its avocados to more than 34 countries worldwide.
What makes the Mexican Hass avocado so special?
The Hass avocado is extremely versatile and can be used to make a range of recipes, from traditional guacamole to creative recipes such as tacos, salsas, salads, and all kinds of snacks to complement the Super Bowl party.
It's a healthy snack. While typical snacks are high in empty calories, avocado offers healthy fats, fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants, which makes it a guilt-free pleasure.
This season, as part of its national campaign, Avocados From Mexico partnered with the iconic Rob Gronkowski, a former professional football player, to support shoppers in preparing for their Super Bowl parties.
