Between January and August 2024, Azerbaijan's export figures for tomatoes reached 116,952 tons, generating $139,545,000 in revenue, as reported by Azernews with information from the State Customs Committee. This represents a growth of 12.3% in value and 4.4% in quantity over the previous year. During the same timeframe in 2023, the country exported 112,064 tons of tomatoes, valued at $124,290,000. Tomatoes constituted 0.77% of Azerbaijan's total exports and approximately 6.40% of its non-oil exports for the year.
Furthermore, the first eight months of 2024 saw Azerbaijan exporting 35,365 tons of dates, bringing in $27,783,000. This marks a significant increase, with date exports growing 1.9 times in value and 75% in quantity from the previous year. In comparison, during the first eight months of 2023, Azerbaijan's date exports amounted to 20,261 tons, with a value of $14,750,000.
