A wholesale distribution centre is set to open in Mangystau as part of projects aimed at stabilizing prices for essential food items, discussed at a meeting chaired by the region's head, Nurlan Nogaev.
The construction of the "Aktau Wholesale Distribution Center (WDC)" is a key focus, according to the Mangystau Region's press service in Kazakhstan.
Dastan Murataliev, the head of the Entrepreneurship and Trade Department of Mangystau Region, presented measures for price stabilization in the region. Currently, under construction in Aktau, the Aktau WDC is valued at 3.5 billion tenge (EUR 6,930,000). It comprises a dry warehouse for 24,000 tons and climate-controlled storage for 54,000 tons, enabling simultaneous storage of large product volumes, including 20,000 tons of vegetables. The centre is expected to open in 2024, doubling the region's vegetable storage capacity and aiding price stabilization.
