The Board of Directors of the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI), a public entity attached to the Ministry of Science and Innovation, has approved the financing of an R+D+i project that the Brokaw EspaƱa SL company will carry out in Malaga. The project, which requires a total investment of 441,108 euro, will receive an economic support of 233,390.24 euro.
The project, 'Development of new clonal avocado patterns with high tolerance to salinity and heavy soils', was approved on September 28 and is part of the Level 1 sectoral area: Food, Agriculture, and Fisheries of the 2021-27 Feder Fund Program.
The project will help create farms with genetically homogeneous trees that generate higher fruit yields, as well as greater effectiveness in pruning, fertigation, application of phytosanitary products, and harvesting. Uniformity in tolerance to soil fungi is also achieved.
80 new R&D& I projects
A total of 80 new R&D& I projects have been approved in Spain, with a total budget of 58 million euro. The CDTI Innovation will contribute 41.30 million euro, including a 9.05 million euro non-reimbursable tranche. The CDTI Innovation has approved 86 operations and all projects belong to the loan modality.
