Tabaporã invests in acerola and passion fruit cultivation

The municipality of Vale do Arinos, Tabaporã, has been emerging in fruit growing. Ovídio Neto, Secretary of Economic Development for the municipality of Tabaporã, has a clear mission: to strengthen family farming and create a more sustainable and productive environment for small farmers in the region.

To achieve these objectives, the Tabaporã Department of Agriculture works in close collaboration with EMPAER, an entity that provides rural extension services. The focus is to meet the needs of small producers effectively, ensuring that they know how to communicate their demands to the Secretariat, which then mobilizes a specialized team to provide the necessary support.

Tabaporã is proud to be one of the largest producers of acerola and passion fruit in the region, producing almost 300 tons of fruit pulp every week. “ We have a very large demand for fruit ”, stated the Secretary. In addition to fruits, the Secretariat also began investing in vegetables, supplying chemicals and seeds to small properties.
