According to Eurostat, nearly half of Czechs do not eat the recommended daily fruit and vegetable servings. Only 8% consume at least five portions daily. This is concerning as poor diet accounts for nearly a quarter of Czech deaths annually, the State Health Institute said in a report.

Southern England Farms (SEF), based in Hayle, began donating its surplus vegetables to FareShare's 'Surplus with Purpose' scheme in 2019. Now co-owner Jane Richards, along with her 400-plus pickers, works with the charity to ensure any excess vegetables never go to waste. Her farms, made up of over 6,500 acres, are a key vegetable supplier to several major retailers in the UK.
Deliveroo and Gopuff partner to deliver groceries across the UK

France: Carrefour launches plant-based venture with major food companies
A group of food manufacturers, including Unilever and Danone, are teaming up with Carrefour to try to drive sales of plant-based products. The French retailer has set itself the target of reaching €500mln ($535.5mln) in sales of plant-based protein products by that date in Europe - a 65% increase in 2022. The other five manufacturers who will be part of the "coalition" are Bel, Andros, Bonduelle, Nutrition & Santé, and Savencia.
