ZIM and HATS announce new joint venture for shipping services in Vietnam

Israeli box carrier ZIM and Hai An Transport and Stevedoring Joint-stock Company (HATS) have launched Lotus Link, a new joint venture to operate domestic and regional shipping services in Vietnam.

ZIM and HATS announce new joint venture for shipping services in Vietnam. Haiphong-based HATS operates port and marine transport services including port cargo handling, warehouse leasing and shipping services.

Lotus Link will also be headquartered in Haiphong and headed by Huy Dang Quy. This joint venture brings together the global, regional and domestic expertise and coverage of ZIM and Hai An.

In particular, the joint venture will serve ports in Vietnam, namely Ho Chi Minh, Danang, and Haiphong, as well as satellite provinces and its hinterlands. Additionally, Lotus Link is planned to provide landside logistics services such as trucking and customs brokerage services.

Furthermore, Lotus Link plans to launch its first service in March, with deploying vessels sailing under the flag of  Vietnam and serving both local and international trades.

"Our joint venture with ZIM will offer more choices for Vietnam importers and exporters and help save in logistics costs," said Mark Vu, general director of HATS.
