Sealand Europe becomes cold chain partner for Egypt’s Magrabi Agriculture

Sealand Europe, a subsidiary of Maersk, is pleased to announce a multi-year agreement with Magrabi Agriculture to provide the fresh produce company with complex Cold Chain Management as part of an integrated end-to-end supply chain solution. Magrabi Agriculture is one of Egypt’s largest fruit and vegetable exporters. The company is exporting high quality fresh produce into 55 countries. The wide product range includes varieties of citrus, grapes, pomegranates, dates, mangoes, strawberries, orange juice, capsicum and lettuce which can be found in the shelves of virtually all large supermarket chains in Europe and elsewhere. Magrabi is also known for investing in top notch supply chain solutions.

In the future, Sealand – A Maersk Company will take care of Magrabi’s whole fresh produce export to many destinations in- and outside Europe. A workflow and performance driven control tower will be located in Cairo with a dedicated, experienced and scalable team for Magrabi. Maersk’s tech solutions MyMaersk with live dashboards will enhance visibility within the supply chain which will be continuously optimized.

“We are very proud to partner with such a prestigious company from Egypt. For Magrabi Agriculture, time is of essence and every hour on the journey from farm to shelf counts. The faster their fruit and vegetables reach the end customer, the better, healthier, and more sustainable the world can eat. At the same time, Magrabi will benefit from increased transparency, efficiency and resilience in their global supply chain,” says Omar Gharbo, Sealand Cluster Manager for Egypt.

“Thanks to Sealand’s willingness to explore the intricacies of our operation, we have by far surpassed our initial targets and even achieved targets for previously unidentified KPIs. We are excited to utilize the control tower software to expand the benefits of the Sealand and Maersk experience to all our utilized shipping companies” said Ehab El Maghraby, Director of Planning and Development at Magrabi.
