10,000 tons of avocados from Jalisco will arrive in the US for the 2023 Super Bowl

For the first time in its history, Hass avocado produced in Jalisco will be present at the Super Bowl.

In fact, since the state of Jalisco was allowed to export avocado to the US on July 28, the state has contributed 7 to 8% of the volume sent to the United States for the 2023 Super Bowl celebration, stated Javier Medina, producer, and president of the Association of Producers and Exporters of Jalisco.

Medina stressed that allowing Jalisco to export avocado to the US, a market that is 12 hours away by land and that is the biggest consumer of avocado worldwide, had given the state the opportunity to generate higher paid and better quality sources of employment.

The orchards of Jalisco will export 10,000 tons of avocado for the Super Bowl celebration, in an industry where they move about 6,000 million pesos a year.
