Russia and Turkey intend to strengthen control over the supply of fruits and vegetables

Negotiations between representatives of the Rosselkhoznadzor and the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkey took place via video link, to discuss how to strengthen the control over the supply of fruits and vegetables. Turkey is one of the main suppliers of fruit and vegetable products to Russia.

To stabilize the quarantine phytosanitary condition in the supply of Turkish vegetables and fruits, the negotiators discussed the possibility of auditing Turkish laboratories and certifying producers and packaging stations that form shipments of fruit and vegetable products to Russia. Such a control system will prevent shipments of unsafe regulated products.

To avoid the detection of imports based on fake documents, Turkish colleagues suggested using a system for checking phytosanitary certificates when delivering Turkish products to Russia.
