Seagri will increase its support for fruit growing in Paraná, Brazil

The State System of Agriculture (Seagri) will increase its support for fruit growing in Paraná. The state's participation in fairs that have fruits as stars is one of the ways to strengthen and expand the chain. One of them, the Mariópolis Grape Festival , in the southwest of the state, which ended this Sunday (22) and was honored by the Secretary of State for Agriculture and Supply, Norberto Ortigara.

Ortigara: “The state of Paraná is a great producer of food, it has an important weight in the main chains, but we are still in debt in the sector of fruits, vegetables, greens and flowers, but mainly in fruits. We are still looking for a lot of fruit outside Paraná, and many that we could be producing here.”

According to Ortigara, the state produces around 50,000 tons of fruit. “We have great examples in Brazil and, mainly, in South America, with Argentina and Chile. But we also have a good climate, so we can grow, and grow a lot, ”he said.

“We have to encourage the production of fruits and vegetables, and encourage purchases to be made from producers in the municipality itself, which strengthens local production and generates a very high economic density,” added Ortigara.
