In the Netherlands, De Waog, an organic farm, was looking for small paper packaging on behalf of a client. Owner Joep de Bool soon ended up at Paardekooper. With CartoPaper, this packaging company could offer a sustainable alternative to foil packaging while retaining the product's high quality.
“Customers are free to print their bags. You can do all kinds of colors and designs," says Joep. CartoPaper lets customers create a strong shelf presentation for their product, fully matching their brand. The bags can be printed in full color up to as many as six colors.
“We use this packaging for various bulb and tuber crops. The bags are sturdy and suitable for fully automatic packaging." It does not let light through, so the products stay good longer. If desired, punch holes or a net can be added, so consumers can inspect the fresh produce.
CartoPaper is made from 100% renewable raw materials. "The paper is fully recyclable and FSC-certified. People can simply toss the packaging in the waste paper bin," Joep concludes. The water-based spot coating fades completely during the recycling process. CartoPaper is thus approved as a mono-material and can be fully recycled.
