In 2022, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine approved grant applications for the creation of greenhouses, both for the industry and domestic gardening. This was reported by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Mykola Solskyi, during a press briefing at the Media Center Ukraine - Ukrinform.
"The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine developed non-refundable grant programs for farmers, which were approved in June 2022. The programs relate to the development of horticulture, berry growing, and viticulture, as well as greenhouse farms. The primary purpose of these programs is to support agricultural producers, create jobs, and ensure food security. At the same time, it is designed to stimulate the domestic horticulture industry, which has not developed for many years."
The main work is carried out through banks, and applications worth UAH 378 million were approved.
Last year, the ministry signed 70 applications for planting gardens and eight applications for creating greenhouses in total.
The Minister reminded that, in addition to the grant program for the creation of gardens and greenhouses, Ukraine had a program to support small agricultural producers last year. The European Union allocated 50 million euros for this program in 2022, and in total, 31,000 applications were approved for it.
