Bulltec from Cesena supplied the PPAS potato consortium in Camigliatello Silano (Cosenza) with an electronic grader for sweet potatoes made up of a two-channel conveyor system with 8+1 outlets.
"The grader sorts the products by weight and, thanks to the customized software, every outlet (equipped with a conveyor) can automatically fill the crates. By producing and managing the software automatically, Bulltec can create customized procedures for clients, such as when a client asked us to destine the first outlet for tray processing," explains Ruggero Ricci from Bulltec.
Albino Carli
The president of the PPAS consortium Albino Carli reported that "the new grading and processing system installed in early December enables us to improve our processing capacity by 100% and, most of all, to guarantee an excellent level of grading precision."
"The system is entirely made of stainless steel and is equipped with nine outlets. It enables great flexibility, to the benefit of our organization and efficiency. This is because, while keeping the same conditions and with fewer workers on the line, we manage to get more than double the amount of finished produce."
"Great attention was paid to removing all those causes that may have led to mechanical damage to the produce, with a final quality that fully meets our expectations."
"The line can be customized according to client needs: Bulltec can in fact adjust this technology to process many kinds of vegetables including bell peppers, eggplants, zucchini and cucumbers," concludes Ricci.
