Good yield for Egyptian strawberries

The drop in temperature in Egypt in October and November compared to the same period of last year, and the good weather conditions in general, were good news for strawberry producers. The Egyptian producer Fresh Green has seen his strawberry production double compared to last season, with satisfactory quality, according to Mr. Eslam Taha, CEO of the company.

"We are currently in the harvest phase, we expect to double our volumes compared to last year, and an improved quality. We plan to export to England, France, Germany, Italy, and East Asian countries". Mr. Taha explains.

To illustrate the impact of the weather on the strawberry season, Mr. Taha said that he has reached a yield of 10 tons per feddan (1 feddan = 0.42 ha). A good figure for the producer.

"What characterizes the Egyptian agricultural production is the good quality. When the weather is favorable, our production becomes very competitive in the international market". said Mr. Taha. The producer exports other products, such as citrus, green onions, potatoes, and yellow onions. "We diversify our production and add other products and varieties every year to adapt to new market needs" he concludes.
