Mercusor bloc sees internal tensions between presidents

At the latest meeting between Mercusor Presidents, internal tensions around trade inflexibility meant that clashes took place between the presidents of Uruguay, and Argentina.

Uruguay's president wants to negotiate a free trade agreement with China, but Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina said it's in violation of the rule of consensus for the bloc.

Argentina also said the agreement with the European Union is a disadvantage for his country. He said Uruguay is an autonomous country, but asked for a joint study.
