The National Platform for the Defense of the Transport Sector has announced the suspension of the indefinite strike on the second day of protests. "Since the Platform made a call to strike, there's been a relentless harassment and demolition campaign by shippers, associations of the national transport committee, government unions, some media, and a specific political party to try to intentionally discredit this mobilization," the organization stated.
On Monday, the strike started with a demonstration in Madrid that gathered about 1,500 carriers, according to police calculations, and tens of thousands of protestors, according to the carriers.
