As the only international railway port by the border in Guangxi, Pingxiang Railway Port has had the advantages of a large single volume of railway transportation and few contacts since this year. The port adopted innovative measures such as optimizing the grouping of container trains and promoting the use of railway "express modes" to help its trade continue to develop well.
According to statistics, in the first three quarters of this year, Pingxiang Railway Port's imports and exports achieved rapid growth. The imported fruit was 36,000 tons, an increase of 185.4% year-on-year, and the value of goods was 650 million yuan, an increase of 68.8% year-on-year.
"In order to ensure the import of fruits from ASEAN countries, Pingxiang Customs has formulated a 'one fruit, one policy' and 'one enterprise, one policy' based on the import needs of enterprises and designated a special post to connect with enterprises. It also provided one-stop services and issued inspection and quarantine certificates in a timely manner. The customs started an ad-hoc working group and opened up a 'green channel' for fresh and live products, giving priority to inspection and ensuring the rapid customs clearance of ASEAN fruits and other goods." said Xue Yuncheng, deputy chief of the Pingxiang Customs Supervision Section.
By vigorously promoting the "quick-pass mode" for railway transportation, the port has optimized the customs operation process and realized the paperless management and group clearance of the whole process of train transfer and transit transportation, which has effectively improved the overall efficiency of the port. In the first three quarters, there were 1,804 inbound and outbound trains at the port, a year-on-year increase of 32.5%. Among them, 157 special trains were for imported fruit, exceeding the level of last year.
