Liverpool port strike ends

The Trade Union, Unite and Peel Ports, operator of the Port of Liverpool, have reached a wage agreement following protracted strikes.

Severe operational challenges in the UK supply chain, caused by the strike action at the port, will now be gradually eased. Peel Ports Group said in a statement the union accepted the undisclosed wage offer while container operators are still to vote on accepting it this week.

Based on this offer the further strike action planned for 14 November will be postponed.
