Port workers strike at Port of Antwerp

The Port of Antwerp in Belgium was closed today (9 November 2022) as port workers went on strike to call attention to rising energy costs.

The port suffered delays and operational challenges as port workers across the board, including pilots, tugs and other port personnel participated in the strike action. The strike is to last for 24 hours, and is expected to end at 06:00 on Thursday morning.
