Uzbekistan producer on their first table grape exports to Japan

A table grape producer from Uzbekistan, who was the first to export to Japan when the market opened for them last season, says they need to diversify exports to more markets.

Farmer Azizbek Khamarliev from Kuvasay, Fergana region of Uzbekistan, with broad experience of exporting grapes to Europe, says they need to plant modern varieties.

Although they don't send huge volumes the prices in Japan are very high and lucrative enough to send smaller volumes. The focus in that market is on quality, meeting very high standards and must be safe.
