Dutch bell pepper grower gets new automated crate processing line

In the Netherlands, Bateq recently installed a new production line at C. Zwinkels Paprikakwekerij. This fully automated line lets this bell pepper grower depalletize, destack, unfold, and transport folding crates. The line carries them to the rear sorting system, where the crates are refilled. The filled crates are then stacked and palletized again.

The system has a 1,000 folding crate/hour output capacity, significantly higher than if this process were done manually. Besides savings FTEs and personnel costs, the staff can now focus on core tasks: harvesting, checking, and packing Dutch high-quality bell peppers. The line does the most time-consuming, boring work.

The system is designed to be so flexible that it can automatically change to a different pallet and crate type at the push of a button. Manual changeover and often post-adjustment is no longer necessary.
