FachPack 2022 brings some 32,000 visitors from 90 countries to Nürnberg

"This year's fair brought along new hope after the difficult Covid period"

On September 29, FACHPACK - the European Trade Fair for Packaging, Technology and Processes closed its doors after three days. The balance was so positive: the organizer of the exhibition, NürnbergMesse Ltd, counted a total of 32,000 visitors from 90 countries (2021: 24,000 visitors from 33 countries). Under the motto "Transition in Packaging", 1,154 exhibitors showed their solutions for pressing packaging issues.

"Even though the overall situation is not easy for many companies at the moment, at FACHPACK the European packaging industry showed itself to be extremely innovative and solution-oriented," says Heike Slotta, Executive Director Exhibition, NürnbergMesse.

Packaging industry focuses on Circular Economy
FachPack in Nuremberg has been an integral part of bekuplast's exhibition calendar for more than 20 years. At its 150 m2 booth, bekuplast presented reusable solutions for all industries. In the fruit and vegetable sector, the focus lay on the "Clever-Fresh-Box advance" folding container series. By simply folding them up, the volume of these fruit and vegetable containers can be reduced by some 80%. "The empty boxes can be transported in a space-saving manner. This will reduce transport costs, of course; it is an important factor that is becoming increasingly important in these times of rising energy costs," says Gerold Wilms, key account manager at bekuplast.

bekuplast develops and produces exclusively reusable solutions and has long been committed to "Circular Economy". At the end of their life cycle, the durable plastic boxes can be recycled fully, with all materials returning to the production cycle. As of now, the company also offers its customers climate-neutral products, proving once again that plastic and sustainability are by no means mutually exclusive.

Maximum performance in machine packaging
Today's product packaging goes hand in hand with numerous requirements, regardless of the respective industry. ROVEMA Ltd, a specialist in packaging machines, took the opportunity to present the Mr. Paper stand-up bag from SILBO. The bag is made of 100% certified paper and it is recyclable. A ROVEMA machine can form 80 packs per minute. This is proof that the cooperation between the packaging manufacturer and the packaging machine manufacturer has had a great impact and has resulted in ecological packaging of the highest quality. The Mr. Paper bag is suitable for fruit and vegetables, sweets and other loose products.

"We are delighted that ROVEMA has presented our packaging at such an outstanding industry event as Fachpack. It's good to be here and to be part of this group. This year brought along new hope, after the difficult Covid period. You can see that the number of visitors has increased significantly compared to last year. Also, the exhibitors have many interesting innovative products. We hope that the world will not stop us and that the whole industry will move boldly towards more sustainable packaging," says Marcin Śpiewok (above), the SILBO CEO.
