On September 22, the Guangdong Agribusiness Group and Alibaba jointly built a production warehouse in Zhanjiang, the famous "sea of pineapples", and ushered in the first broadcast of the origin of the harvest festival.
Xuwen is known as the "sea of pineapples" because its output of pineapples accounts for 1/3 of China's production. Since the completion of the production warehouse in the first half of the year, more than 90,000 orders of pineapples have been shipped, and more than 750 thousand kg of fresh-cut pineapples were directly supplied to Hema Fresh and RT-Mart. At the same time, dragon fruit produced in Zhanjiang, which accounts for 20% of the total output in China, will meet with consumers across the country through the production warehouse during the harvest season.
Thanks to the construction of Alibaba's production warehouse in Xuwen, Wei Shiqi's pineapples are connected to the broader national market, and the cost has also dropped a lot. With the cold storage in the production warehouse, the storage time of the fruits is longer.
Recently, dragon fruits became the new guests of Alibaba's production warehouse in Xuwen as well.
"Many people don't know that dragon fruit can be harvested 6-7 times a year. We now use lighting technology to make dragon fruit bloom in autumn and winter, and now we can harvest more than 12 times a year." Huang Suo, general manager of Zhanjiang Agribusiness Guangqian Mingyou Company, introduced.
In the production warehouse in Xuwen, pineapples are sorted and automatically packaged according to the standards of size, appearance, sugar content, water content, black heart, and others through digital sorting lines. They are sent to the whole country through the corresponding cold chain storage and transportation.
"On the sales side, we provide industrial structure, brand, merchant, and consumer group guidance for 'Laterite Golden Pineapples' through the market insight of the Alibaba platform. At the origin of production, we jointly formulate brand standards to drive the development of the Xuwen pineapple industry through brand building," said Shu Xin, South China Regional Manager of Alibaba's Digital Rural Business Department.
The most important part of the cooperation between Guangdong Agribusiness Group and Alibaba is the digital supply chain based on the warehouse at the origin. This is the first modern agricultural product logistics and trade complex integrating pineapple trading and service in Guangdong, including big data centers, intelligent production warehouses, cold chains, and other sectors, and it also provides public services for local farmers, which can reduce logistics costs by 20%.
