Andalusia will be Fruit Attraction's Guest Region

Andalusia will be the Guest Region in Fruit Attraction 2022. This is the first edition in which, from now on, the fair will have a Guest Region; an initiative to strengthen the visibility of the different autonomous communities and to show the diversity of Spanish production. The 14th edition of Fruit Attraction, organized by IFEMA Madrid and FEPEX, will be held from October 4 to 6 in pavilions 3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and 10.

The Guest Region initiative establishes a wide field of joint action in Fruit Attraction's most significant promotion and communication areas. With this, the Junta de Andalucía will gain, in this edition, prominence and strategic visibility for the promotion of the region's rich fruit and vegetable supply and the extraordinary quality of its productions.

The initiative also contributes to creating a close link between the Guest Region and Fruit Attraction. This will allow this Community, which has long consolidated participation in the Fair, to take advantage and make the most of the event's magnificent worldwide promotional potential of this year's edition of the fair; which will be held in Madrid for three days under the slogan "Proud to be Fruit Attraction".

This year's participation is expected to reach the pre-pandemic levels of 2019.

Practically all the autonomous communities that produce fruit and vegetables in Spain will be participating in Fruit Attraction. This showcases the confidence that the sector has in Fruit Attraction, whose success lies mainly in the great interest of the Spanish fruit and vegetable market for international marketing, precisely in a key month for campaign planning.

The international participation of 52 countries in the event grows every year, effectively confirming Fruit Attraction as a key commercial event for the world's fruit and vegetable production, marketing, and distribution sectors. The fair will have strong European participation from the hand of France, Italy, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Portugal, Poland, and Germany. Serbia and Albania, Colombia, the United States, Korea, Peru, Chile, South Africa, and India will also participate in the event and there will be an increase in African participation, especially from Kenya, Guinea, and Côte d 'Ivoire.

It's an unbeatable context to welcome the stellar presence of the Junta de Andalucía, a community that is already a global horticultural reference, as this year's Fruit Attraction Guest Region; an exceptional scenario to open new avenues of expansion and business opportunities in other markets.

According to data from the Department of Customs and Excise, processed by FEPEX, in 2021 Andalusia continued to be the leading exporter in Spain, with 4.5 million tons, 1% more than in the previous year, worth 6,052 million euro (+7%). In the first quarter of 2022, the region's exports amounted to 1.7 million tons, 3% less than in the first quarter of 2021, worth 3,144 million euro (+12%).
