After two years and two months the fresh produce industry headed for Berlin for Fruit Logistica. The event got off to a subdued start on Tuesday but numbers started to build throughout the day, and Wednesday was noticeably busier. There were also less stand holder than normal with a few of the big names missing. Despite this everyone was glad to be back in Berlin and very happy to see colleagues and clients again face to face. Stand holders also said that in general the quality of the visitor was higher than normal and there was a more relaxed atmosphere with more time to talk.
The main topics of conversation were the recent frost in Europe, rising costs and logistical issues and of course the market disruption caused by the war.
There also celebrations - TORMA celebrated it's 50 year anniversary and Anecoop celebrated the 30th anniversary of its Bouquet Seedless watermelons.
As always the FreshPlaza team were there to report on the event
