The pink ribbed Cassarosa tomato is awarded the 2022 Flavor of the Year award

The Flavor of the Year quality seal is a prestigious seal that is awarded each year to a series of products that has a higher quality and flavor than the rest of their competitors in the market. This selection is carried out through blind tastings, where 80 consumers try different products from the same segment, under the same conditions and without being able to identify them. The tests are carried out under neutral conditions in which consumers are not influenced and can really choose the product they consider has the best quality and flavor.

For the first time, consumers have awarded Cassarosa® the prestigious Flavor of the Year seal, after its appearance and taste outperformed that of the competition. "This tomato is characterized by its ribbed shape and its pearly pink color. It stands out for its sweet flavor that is perfectly balanced with its good acidity, and its aroma that manages to evoke the most traditional tomato."

"We have worked for years to recover the traditional, fresh, and aromatic flavor of the tomato. We've worked hard so that consumers don't notice the tomato's skin when they bite it. They will bite a meaty, succulent, sweet, acidic tomato that has a powerful aftertaste that invites consumers to have seconds. We wanted the consumer experience to be complete and we believe that we have achieved it, also providing a clear differentiation in the market, and this is what this Flavor of the Year award has recognized," stated Fabio Andres Coullet, Global Product Management Lead of Yuksel Seeds.
