In recent months, the Vivai Magalotti Quarto plant nursery has participated in two important trade fairs: Fruit Attraction in Madrid in October and the fair in Karlsruhe on 17 and 18 November. "Both events have allowed us to expand our international horizons. It was our first time at the fair in Madrid and we had excellent feedback from Spanish and Portuguese companies, with great demand for fruit plants and micro-propagated rootstocks," commented Daniela Magalotti and Corrado Arigliani of Vivai Magalotti Quarto.
The response was also very positive in Karlsruhe, Germany. "We met with established customers who already work with us, but we also made new contacts, such as companies from Eastern Europe. If we want to draw up a small balance sheet, both fairs brought us satisfactory results."
With regard to the company's core business, which is the production of kiwi plants, the last few months have been characterized by a high demand for both Hayward and Bounty71 rootstock grafted with Hayward and Gold3 Zespri. "We have seen a strong demand both for the replacement of plants at the end of the production cycle, and for younger ones affected by dieback."
One of the strengths of Vivai Magalotti has always been to ensure the maximum health of plants. "For more than three years now we have adopted the cultivation in phytocells with coconut fiber substrate to obtain a higher quality of health of plants and especially of the roots, which in this way are not cut by the grubbing machine, but are delivered to the customer entirely intact. This means that the plant has a faster response in the field than the classic bare root. We are obtaining excellent results with both Hayward and Bounty71".

As for the varieties of strawberries proposed, the traditional range of varieties of Vivai Magalotti - which however included valid and important varieties such as Asia, Alba, Roxana, Cristina - has been enriched with new selections that are beginning to be very appreciated by hundreds of Italian and European farmers, such as Sandra, Arianna, Federica, Dulcinea, Nadja, White strawberry n°5 and Lauretta, the latter obtained through a multiplication license by Università Politecnica delle Marche.
